A complete of 84.6 percent of patients in the darbepoetin alfa group and 86.9 percent of patients in the placebo group were switched to monthly dosing. During the period of the scholarly study, 46 percent of the patients designated to placebo received at least one dose of darbepoetin alfa as rescue therapy.
